Changing
a tyre
These instructions only apply
if you carry a spare tire, wheel brace, and jack
in your boot. If not, proceed straight to Towing.
1.
If possible, push car off the road.

2. Pull up the handbrake tight!
3. Take out the spare wheel.
4. Take off the hubcaps.
5. Take the wheel brace (a spanner shaped like a cross) out of your car;
use that to loosen the nuts.
6. Jack up the car till it's just off the ground.
7. Then remove the nuts altogether (There are 4 or 5 of them).
8. Lift and pull the wheel off.
9. Put on the new wheel.
10. Turn nuts as far as you can.
11. Lower the car till it (just) touches the ground.
12. Tighten nuts altogether.
13. Let car down altogether (remove the jack and put stuff back in the
boot).
Get the damaged tyre repaired
at a garage. (next...Battery
upkeep)
